Put in your model# and a page will come up with all the drivers available for that model. Download the driver pack to My Documents hp files, ( Make this folder) Before installing go to my computer right click icon, properties, hardware manager or device manager fine the object your looking for then right click on it then again properties and hit driver tab. Un-install driver for this Peripheral, then go back to my docs and load the file you just downloaded. This will reload factory set drivers for this media card reader.

Below is the link to that model laptop.put in the operating system because you didn't specify whether you had the 32 or 64 bit OS. I would guess you went with 32 bit but you never know. Anyway, look for the card reader under driver downloads and give it a shot. While you are in these driver files, think about updating your BIOS on the laptop if you have not done it.
